Since the launch of the 2019 conference in May this year at Waipuna in Auckland, your organising team has been hard at work. We are focussed on the details, making this occasion a memorable first conference for District 112 that is affordable to all.
This is the first of our three-day conferences and a full itinerary is in the process of being finalised. The programme will be published on the “New Beginnings” website shortly.
Registration & Accommodation
Have you registered yet? The early bird registration that has been active since our launch at Waipuna is $85.00. Be in quick to score this low registration fee. Due to the changes that have been taking place in Toastmasters this year, we have not been able to promote this fee as widely as we wanted to until now. Due to the delay, the early bird promotion has been extended to either the first 100 registrations received, or the cut-off date of 23 December 2018 – whichever comes first. To be confirmed all early bird payments must be received into our Bank Account “Toastmasters District 112” 02-0480-0047317-01 no later than 23rd December 2018. Please note, please do not use the bank account details that are noted on the registration forms that were circulated at Waipuna.
I understand there are still plenty of rooms available at the Distinction Hotel, or alternatively there are many motels with accommodation available within a short drive of the venue. We will make some recommendations on the website for you:

Speakers and workshop presenters
We have a great line-up of speakers:
Lark Doley DTM – International President
A Toastmaster for 25 years, Doley is a member of two clubs, including her home club in Pflugerville, Texas, the Arthur Storer club that was chartered in honour of her father-in-law after his death in 1997. Doley has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation—the highest level of achievement in the organization.
Doley says, “I have used my improved communication and leadership skills to found and lead a successful company. I now have the privilege to work for a company where I use my skills daily to teach others.” Surely well qualified to take us through our potential from our New beginning.
Lark will also run a workshop for all of us. Lark’s full Bio is available on-line at https://www.toastmasters.org/about/board-of-directors/current-board-of-directors
Toni Sharpe QSM, DTM – District 112 Director
Toni will take a Key Note speaking slot. It is the first year as a new District, and I know she has a great story to tell. Toni is steering the ship through the rippling waters of our first year as a new District, I’m sure there are anecdotes to describe our New Beginnings Toni can share with us.
Further speakers will be profiled in future newsletters as they are confirmed to take either a workshop or to speak.
